Our Goals
Our foundation aims to preserve, research, share, and promote the cultural heritage of the Jewish community in Szeged through educational and training programs for young people in primary, secondary, and higher education, as well as for local, national, and international audiences interested in the topic. These initiatives include thematic workshops, training sessions, study competitions, and calls for proposals.
A key objective of the foundation is to explore, document, and widely promote Jewish and non-Jewish coexistence while fostering sensitivity and understanding. Another priority is the protection, research, and public dissemination of the intellectual and cultural heritage of the Jewish Community of Szeged. This includes the establishment, maintenance, and expansion of an archival collection, digitization of materials, and making them accessible through online platforms and databases, as well as operating a dedicated website.
We also aim to conduct research supporting educational programs and heritage preservation efforts, such as processing archival materials, conducting interviews, engaging in historical research, and establishing scholarships for specific topics. Additionally, we plan to organize conferences and publish scientific, educational, and informational materials.
Our foundation also intends to continue curating periodic exhibitions from archival collections and to organize lectures and lecture series. One of our key priorities is to recognize and support outstanding university students in Szeged who focus on human rights, minority issues, or related legal studies through grants and scholarships.
